Hi I’m Melissa from Fajar Secondary School and I’m 14 years old. I was diagnosed with dysphasia, autism and dyslexia. I had difficulty with my first school I was bullied for being Autistic. Then my parents decided to shift me to local school and I was lucky to join West View Primary School In 2015. I joined the school during the haze period this was difficult as I also have asthma and the haze made it difficult to get better to go to school.
I had my first symptoms of muscle disease about a year later. I had gotten depressed so we buckled up and found out what was wrong. My goal was to succeed at PSLE and I did and joined Fajar Secondary. My problems got better for a while and then got worse again and I was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome. We are currently checking if I have EDs. Now my hopes are to finish secondary school and join Ngee Ann Polytechnic to do Veterinary Bioscience. My dream is to move back to Switzerland to build an animal sanctuary and bring awareness to disabilities because I’m not the only one fighting and everyone should be aware. Thank you for reading!
